For her new album - Orfeo - Fay Hield has assembled the virtuoso Hurricane Party, made up of Jon Boden (fiddle, guitar, percussion, double bass, mandolin, additional banjo and vocals), Andy Cutting (button accordions, melodeon), Rob Harbron (English Concertina, fiddle, vocals), Sam Sweeney (fiddle, viola, cello, nyckelharpa, vocals) and special guest Martin Simpson (banjo, guitar).

Orfeo features powerful arrangements of traditional songs, fabulously focused around Fay's remarkable voice. Her gift for unearthing rare and interesting material is well represented throughout. Fay has a rich and unadorned voice, perfect for her chosen genre of traditional song. Her debut album - Looking Glass - released in 2010 was a huge success, earning her many accolades and a nomination for the Horizon Award at that year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Alongside her music career Fay also runs two folk clubs with her partner Jon Boden, and is an academic - lecturing in ethnomusicology at the University of Sheffield.
