From the first few releases starting in 1998, Gene Krupa, The History Of Jazz Drumming, Deep Ska and Spike Jones, Proper Records’ 4 CD boxed sets raised the bar for re-issues. These amazing value for money sets focussing on classic music from the 20th century all come with re-mastered recordings, and 24 – 68 page booklets that include rare photos, discographical information and biographical notes penned by experts in their fields.
With releases covering classic Jazz, vintage Blues, Country, Western Swing, Rock ‘n’ Roll and more, they come as artist surveys or intelligent various artist compilations and have been lauded by the critics and the general public alike.
