Description

Bellowhead is one of the most exciting bands to have emerged during 2004. During their performance at Sidmouth Festival the audience managed to break the dance floor - a fair reflection of the band's attitude to folk music! Featuring some of the most talented players from the younger generation of the English traditional and world music scenes and spearheaded by the multi award winning duo Spiers & Boden, Bellowhead put English music firmly on the world stage. Formed in 2004, Bellowhead are already causing a huge stir and are the winners of the Radio 2 Folk Award for "best live act" as well as being nominated for "best group".

Bellowhead are:
John Spiers - melodeon, concertina, bandoneon
Jon Boden - vocals, fiddle
Benji Kirkpatrick - guitar, bouzouki
Giles Lewin - fiddle, bagpipes
Paul Sartin - fiddle, oboe
Pete Flood - stomp box, percussion & tuned percussion
Rachael McShane - cello, fiddle
Justin Thurgur - trombone
Brendan Kelly - saxes
Andy Mellon ? trumpet
Gideon Juckes -Sousaphone
