Description

Dr Faustus have been around for about four years but this is their debut album. They are four young musicians who are well known in their own right:
Tim van Eyken (melodeon, vocals), a former BBC Young Tradition Award winner, currently working with Waterson-Carthy as well as Nancy Kerr & James Fagan and as a duo with Robert Harbron

Benji Kirkpatrick (bouzouki, guitar, vocals), son of John Kirkpatrick, a member of Magpie Lane and currently involved with The Oyster Band's Big Session;

Robert Harbron (concertina), one of the finest concertina players of his generation, soloist and plays as a duo with Tim van Eyken;

Paul Sartin (fiddle, oboe, vocals) is a member of Balshazzar's Feast whose albums have attracted favourable, critical comments.

Like other musicians currently attracting attention they specialise in material from the English tradition as well as composing some of their own tunes. The end result is a superb collection of songs and driving instrumentals.
