An important classical release, this 10CD boxset of recordings by Georg Solti; one of the most important conductors of the 20th century; brings together some of his most important works. Solti died in 1997 and October 2012 is the 100th anniversary of his birth in 1912.

This 10-CD collection featuring the legendary Sir Georg Solti consists of early recordings in which he appears not only as the conductor of some of the great orchestras of the world, but also as a pianist and chamber musician. The repertoire presented reflects his enormous versatility, beginning with Rossini, Offenbach and Suppé, and moving on through Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, and Bartók. The set concludes with a splendid live recording of a performance of Verdi's Requiem given in 1958.
