Description

Part of the Real World Gold series - looking back at the rich catalogue of nearly 200 albums over 23 years. Real World Gold is a series of reissues that brings some of the key Real World releases back into the sunlight. Many of these titles have been unavailable for a number of years, and will be released in batches of ten.

This 1990 classic was the record that turned on many people to the zero-gravity voice of another of Real World's most emblematic artists ? the Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Described by Jeff Buckley as "my Elvis", with Mustt Mustt Nusrat unlocked the door to the beguiling sound of Qawwali, the devotional music of the Sufis. Here in the company of his trusted group of musicians, Nusrat also extended the invitation to a handful of players from all over the map, as well as allowing Massive Attack to get their remixing mitts on the title track. The result is a beautifully humane, planet-shrinking record, the core of which, of course, is that voice, one that could melt the coldest of hearts.
