The Burritos were among the originators of country rock. These albums, from 1971 and '72, are the last two that ex-Byrd and Burritos co-founder Chris Hillman produced with the band. When Gram Parsons left in 1970, singer songwriter Rick Roberts joined. His contribution to the first album is immense. For the second album the band added a significant bluegrass component as displayed on blazing versions of "Orange Blossom Special" and "Dixie Breakdown". In addition there are four Parsons-era classics and rocked up country and soul covers which only add to the album's appeal.
