"When The Devil's Paid" presents a match made in heaven: Timo Lassy, premier sax-stylist from Helsinki, and Ed Motta, the fantastically soulful vocalist from Rio de Janeiro, get together with lyricist Rob Gallagher, aka Earl Zinger or Galliano, the London based magician of Hip, to create this energetic piece of Soul-Jazz-Bossa. A superb track, reminiscent of the soundtrack to a mid-1960s secret-agent casino-scene in Havana, Cuba, in its original version, this EP also includes three deliciously different remixes: an "Afrobeat on Valium"-version by Finnish Electro-flutist Jimi Tenor, a slow-funk mix by Mop Mop's Alex Trebo, as well as an infectious Drum'n'Bass-mix by "Vanilla Dream", the Las Vegas based producer behind the hits of Finnish supergroup Sunrise Avenue.
