The Irish World Old Sledge's first full length album showcases this band from the Blue Ridge mountains as a powerful folk force. Delving into the depths of southern mountain music they bring they're own creative energy whilst never losing touch of where they're from and how this music should be played. Moving from driving fiddle hoedowns to mournful ballads to greasy string band blues, the album features the
tight dynamic instrumental work between Champion West Virginia Fiddler Chance McCoy and Banjo player Ben Townsend. Backed by a driving rhythm section the band is topped off by the excellent vocals and harmonies between Chance McCoy and Sabra Guzman. Far from being re-enactors of mountain music these players have all
deeply studied and apprenticed with master Appalachian musicians and now bring there own voices to this unique tradition.
