Description
This new release presents selected works for trumpet and piano, performed here by Georges Soyka and Kyoko Kashii. "Indigo is one of the oldest pigments and was already used in prehistoric times to dye textile. While it was obtained out of organic sources back then, today's industries make use of syn-thetic indigo to dye clothes, especially blue jeans.
Ancient European and Asian tribes knew about the anti-inflammatory effects of Indigo naturalis and often used it to heal lesions and wounds.
Indigo is the sixth colour of the rainbow and it has some meaningful qualities: it stands for being at peace with yourself, but also has characteristics of truth, intuition, inspiration, imagination. It further symbolises comprehensive thinking and the connectivity between all aspects of life.
As I can see colours while listening to music and as the symbolism of indigo intrigues me, I was inspired to choose Indigo as the title of this album." – Georges Soyka (Trumpet)
Georges Soyka was born in 1988 in Luxembourg City. From 2007 to 2013, he studied classical trumpet at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik Karlsruhe, Germany with Prof. Reinhold Friedrich and got his Master's degree of classical trumpet in 2013.
