Renowned for their riotous live shows and hyperactive Balkan instrumentalism, Sheelanagig's fourth Album "Cirque Insomnia" includes complex vocal harmonies and multi-layered string sections, showcasing a band determined to capture the raw energy of their live sound. Sheelanagig present their long awaited fourth album "Cirque Insomnia", the culmination of four years of intensive writing and touring. Renowned for their riotous live shows and hyperactive Balkan instrumentalism, the band have branched out on this release to include original songs in their repertoire. Replete with complex vocal harmonies and multi-layered string sections, "Cirque Insomnia" showcases a band determined to showcase the progression of their writing and arranging skills, as well as capture the raw energy of their live sound. The band put the finishing touches to their new material during intensive, round-the-clock pre-production at a remote Welsh farmhouse before heading into the studio with long term producer Josh Clark. Sessions for "Cirque Insomnia" took place at studios in Bristol and Bath during January and February 2012. After completing the tracks the band agreed that they had never felt so positive about their recorded work, and were keener than ever to get out on the road playing their new music. -
