  • Description

    RE-PRESS: CD ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 2010 .

Part Motörhead, part Iron Maiden, part Ted Nugent, and among the best metal bands of the era, The Rods from Upstate New York were as much a part of the early 80’s U.K. New Wave Of British Heavy Metal scene as any of their Brit contemporaries.

The rabid three-headed beast of David 'Rock' Feinstein (guitar/vocals), Garry Bordonaro (bass/vocals) and Carl Canedy (drums/vocals) would chew through the restraining chains of the U.S. East Coast disco scene and following the release of their first self-financed album, Rock Hard in 1980, signed with major label, Arista and saw their popularity begin to rise with the release of their self-titled album in September 1981.

As special guest on the European leg of Iron Maiden’s Number Of The Beast tour, The Rods sandwiched the recording of their follow-up album, Wild Dogs with sessions taking place at Parkgate Studios in Hastings during February of ’82.

Packed with prime Metal morsels and some of the meatiest riffs committed to record, Wild Dogs is still respected as one of the best-in-show at the height of the NWOBHM era, setting obedience standards that still resonate today. WALKIES!!!
