Description
Although firmly rooted in blues, the Leif The Leeuw band also touches on other musical genres. They create their own sound, mixing influences from music of the past few decades, ranging from straight forward rock to blues, soul, funk fusion and singer/songwriter material.
After opening a show for for Devon Allman, the inspiration to play Allman Brothers Band material finally turned into an extensive tour of "Leif de Leeuw Band plays Allman Brothers Band".
"The Allman Brothers Band created their own unique sound by mixing blues with jazz, rock and country music. All the stuff that also inspires us.
And then they would turn a 3 minute song into a extended jam that would keep on evolving from start to finish. We try to capture that freedom of musical creativity in our live performances."
And whilst originated as a Live Only project, the demand from the audiences, but also the ever increasing enthusiasm within the band led to the, by then heavily anticipated recording sessions. In front of a live audience, two sessions were recorded in June 2019 in the Sound Vision Studio's in Arnhem.
