    Formed in summer 1979 as the Lambeth Community Youth Steel Orchestra, this band has gone on to become one of London's finest steel ensembles. They regularly perform in the capital, have toured the Channel Islands, Italy and France, and since 1987 they've appeared annually at the Notting Hill Carnival where they've been voted 'Best Steel Band On The Road' four times out of the last five years.

    The band was renamed Southside Harmonics Steel Orchestra in 1998. Here they perform more than an hour of steeldrum favourites ranging from old popular standards via a touch of ska and reggae to the lively soul of Lionel Richie's "All Night Long".
