Description
Musica Ficta is an ensemble passionately devoted to early Latin American and Spanish repertoire. The quality of its performances and its experience have made it one of the most distinguished early music ensembles in South America. The confluence of the guitar and popular rhythms creates the backdrop for this collection of 17th century xacaras and dances. The selected works by composers such as Antonio de Santa Cruz, Antonio Martin y Coll, Gaspar Sanz, Jose Marin, Juan Hidalgo and Manuel Machado represent a selection that captures the enthusiasm of popular music which enticed the sensibility of the scholar composer, an amalgam that emerged from the convergence of both worlds.
