Description
Franck cut his first 45 rpm in 1985. The record got a lot of jukebox play in the local clubs. Through the 80's he received plenty of exposure while playing with Charlie Musselwhite, Elvin Bishop, Mitch Woods and many other local heroes. His career developed over the years and he became a major force in the California blues scene backing up a lot of visiting Chicago Blues artists, including Sunnyland Slim, A.C. Reed, Phil Guy, Byther Smith and others at Bay Area venues including Slim's, J.J.'s and Lou's. After fronting his own band and recording some well received albums (with Sonny Rhodes and Joe Louis Walker as special guest) he went on to become one of the key members in the Mannish Boys, an all star blues band from San Francisco. Franck recorded a dozen albums with such down home blues artists such as Harmonica Slim, Hosea Leavy, Dadoo Wilson and even original O.G., American Pimp's Fillmore Slim. And recorded two albums for Fedora Records with one of his all-time heroes, Chicago blues icon Jimmy Dawkins. In Southern California, he worked with the Fabulous Thurnderbirds' Kim Wilson, Mr. Roy Gaines, Arthur Adams, the Pontiax's Mitch Kashmar and formed a band with R.J. Misho, the R.J. Misho Combo. His latest solo exploit Bluju was the first release of the now reknowned Delta Groove blues label and received rave reviews. “Can’t Raise Me� was recorded with his friends Monti Amundson, Henry Cooper, Boud Small and Bart Kamp from one of the most recent bands that feature Francks extraordinary blues talents: The Sultans of Slide. Other guests like the legendary blues piano player Gene Taylor were happy to add to what may well be the best and most inspired album yet by Franck Goldwasser. -
