This phenomenal debut record from a unique collaborative project offers a funky fusion of afrobeat, hip-hop, folk, and reggae that defies any simple tags or description. Originally from Syracuse, NY and now living in England, Joe Driscoll has been touring steadily for years, spreading his unique fusion of folk and hip-hop. Driscoll uses live looping to create soundscapes full of beatbox, guitar, harmonica, percussion, and has been called 'the gangsta with an iron lung' by none other then Cee-Lo Green. At the hands of Guinean virtuoso Sekou Kouyate the African kora harp has been turned into an electric musical shredding machine that would make Jimi Hendrix envious. The two unlikely collaborators met at a festival workshop in Marseilles, formed a deep musical bond, and have been touring almost non-stop in Europe for the past year, bringing crowd to their feet on some of the continent's biggest festival stages. Includes a bonus remix of "Faya" by Gentleman's Dub Club.
