  • Description

Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz wrote over three hundred and seventy compositions. His oeuvre covers all genres of instrumental and vocal music. The composer used to say that "even the best craftsmanship and compositional skills are only means to achieve the goal of expressing a work." In every composition by Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz, there is a multiplicity and changeability of moods. The character of his music oscillates between the poles of extreme emotions, using sophisticated nuances.

The composer received many awards and distinctions for his pedagogical and artistic work.' Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz's three-movement Violin Concerto is similar to the 19th-century instrumental concertos, as far its formal shape is concerned. The harmony of the work is heterogeneous, which can be seen in the juxtapositions of the violin and the orchestral parts – the orchestra's harmonic palette gives the impression of being cut off from the solo voice. The Concerto for Two Violins and Orchestra, on the other hand, is a three-movement composition, providing an opportunity to show the mastery of both soloists against the background of the entire orchestra as well as in chamber instrumental combinations.
