IMLÉ are an unconventional band with a unique sound, based around vocalists with very diverse musical backgrounds. This self-titled debut album by IMLÉ mixes poetry, rap, trip hop and pop music in a way that has never been heard before. Lyrically, the album explores the meaning of life, our relationship with the planet and finding hope within despair.
IMLÉ won best album, song and band at the 2017 Gradaim Cheoil NÓS - an awards ceremony that celebrates contemporary music in Irish organised by Nos.ie. The group have now released an LP version, with TWO additional tracks.
Songlines – Sung entirely in Irish, the eclectic music borrows from rap, rock, folk and a raft of other idioms to revel in a sassy, street-savvy ear – blending its diverse elements into something altogether immediate….. It’s not too early to say IMLÉ are destined for great things.
