  • Description

'Bring The Tide In' follows on from Iona's debut album 'Hallival' (25/03/22) and her collaborative EP 'Cove' with Ranjana Ghatak (04/08/23). Working alongside producer Andy Bell and musicians Lucy Farrell (backing vocals), Malin Lewis (fiddle) and Euan Burton (double bass) Iona delivers 4 self-penned songs that take the listener on a journey through time and sentimentality.

"'Bring The Tide In' is a collection of songs written from a place of longing and nostalgia. Childhood memories and growth sway through this EP in a way that I didn't expect they would. These songs share stories of my own, each strongly tied to a location or place that has felt poignant during my life.

'Suilven' the first single is inspired by my parents and by their love of hill walking. They'd take me and my siblings on walking holidays every year growing up. At the time I did not enjoy walking but it's gone full circle and now I love being out in the hills. 'Bring The Tide in', the title track, is a song I started writing whilst on the Isle of Rum in August 2022. It's about human connection and how those humans have shaped you. But for me, its meaning changes every time I play it."

Driven by awe and wonder of the natural world Iona Lane delivers poetic songs, with subtle musical touches and contemplative melodies that link unheard stories with the world we find ourselves in today. In 2023 Iona toured extensively in Scotland, England and Wales and joined Karine Polwart on a run of tour dates in England. Iona joined Karine on stage for a few songs, an awe inspiring opportunity for audiences to see these two artists sing together. As well as touring the UK Iona embarked on a three week tour of The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark.
