Description
Deluxe digipak presentation with extensive booklet. Memphis born pianist James Williams (Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers) and bassist and Dennis Irwin (John Scofield) in a duet session featuring three self-penned originals; 'Focus' by Williams, and 'Mimosa' and 'For My Nephews' by Irwin, plus two standards; Duke Ellington's 'In A Sentimental Mood', and 'Invitation' by Bronislaw Kaper, a composition famously featured in the film, A Life of Her Own (1950).
'Focus' was originally released on LP in 1978 and had a circulation limited to Italy. Technical problems that occurred at the time led to it not being transferred to compact disc, leaving the session in undeserved obscurity. Technical issues now resolved, this incredible session is finally reissued on CD.
