I didnt want to make Belonger, Berman says. This album was a chance to push beyond that albums universal style of songwriting into something that was far more personal, more in keeping with my ideals. I wanted the music to be joyful and full of light, even if the subjects were often dark.
Simple And Sure delivers on that goal in fine fashion, an upbeat pop gem that features a great hook, vocal accents from Jen Goma and one of the great choruses that The Pains are so well-known for.
On the B-side we find the dreamy, melancholic Impossible - exclusive to this single.
