In California, The Gestures were especially well-received, maybe because "Run, Run, Run" had the lightness, the hook, and infectious drive of the California surf and car band hits. Cash Box said The Gestures bow was a hard-rock- ing, Liverpool-sounding affair... powerhouse instrumental support on this haunting entry.
