Description
'People Will Talk' is a double album from saxophonist/composer Matt Wates and his sextet, which features some of the UK's leading jazz musicians including Jim Hart and Martin Shaw.Matt graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1988 and has appeared with Humphrey Lyttelton, Ian Shaw, Norma Winstone, Peter King, Don Weller, Bobby Wellins and Dusko Goykovich, amongst others. He has recorded with Jamie Cullum, Paz, Roadside Picnic, Itchy Fingers, NYJO, the Michael Garrick Big Band and Sax Appeal. He won the Rising Star award in the 1997 BT British Jazz Awards, and the Matt Wates Sextet won the Best Small Group award in 2001.
