Rob Agerbeek is an Indo Dutch boogie-woogie and jazz pianist and winner of several jazz concourses in the Netherlands in the late 1950s. He is regarded as one of Europe's finest jazz pianists, covering the full spectrum of jazz styles from his early days of Boogie-woogie to Chicago traditional Jazz, swing and contemporary jazz. Rob Agerbeek's discography of over 40 albums include a double LP with Dexter Gordon live at the Haagse Jazz Club, five CDs with the Dutch Swing College Band and 10 recordings with his own bands.>br>
The title of the album Lock, Stock & Barrel refers to the the versatility of the jazz repertoire that is represented on this album. It alo reflects the vaste variety of genres that Rob van Agerbeek has touched on in his career. A career in which he has performed with his own ensembles but also with artists like Ben Webster, George Coleman, Johnny Griffin, Dexter Gordon and many others. This album features 5 Rob Agerbeek compositions alongside a number of jazz classics and includes influences like blues, hard bop, Boogiewoogie and Boogaloo alongside Latin jazz and bebop. -
