With the making of this CD, the artists wanted to choose works most representative of the different stylistic tendencies that animated Lombard symphonism during the years of the French occupation. This disc is therefore like a large fresco that helps the listener experience the music that was heard in Milan's theatres, churches, educational institutions, and festivals in the early 19th Century.
