Fire & Grace

Alasdair Fraser has gained international fame in his work with Paul Machlis, Tony McManus, the supergroup Skyedance and in his own right as one of Scotland's most popular and widely travelled fiddle players. He has been featured in over 150 TV and radio programmes worldwide and his many recordings include "Dawn Dance" which earned a 1995 Indie Award for Best Celtic Album in America, where Alasdair now lives. "Fire & Grace" is the first album from Alasdair's collaboration with American cellist Natalie Haas, who at 18 is already a seasoned performer. Currently a student at the Juilliard School in New York City, Natalie discovered the cello at the age of nine. Three years later, she fell in love with Celtic music at the Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddling School, where director Alasdair Fraser inspired her to investigate the cello's potential for rhythmic accompaniment to fiddle tunes.
