Guitarist John Jasnoch and saxophonist Martin Archer played with violinist Sarah Farmer and drummer Lee Boyd Allatson as part of the Birmingham Improvisors Orchestra. They had the idea for this group and lost no time in getting the quartet into the studio and spontaneously putting down this mix of compositions, graphic scores and improvisations, which hovers between AACM style free jazz, improvised music plus a hint of contemporary classical music.
