With creativity and a love of improvisation and experimentation, the Norwegian piano trio Falkevik plays energetic, riff-based jazz music, combining the Nordic soundscapes with lyrical musical passages that will linger in your ear. Vocalist and pianist Julie Falkevik - whose clear and unique voice instantly mesmerises the listener - playfully explores with the sound of the piano by applying live electronics and effects, which, in turn, gives the music a distinctive electronic vibe. Inspired by acts like E.S.T, GoGo-Penguin and Rymden - Falkevik combines the nordic jazz tradition with elegant, catchy pop-melodies and riff-based solos. Singles will be released in April, June and August. Multi-instrumentalist, composer and violinist Ola Kvernberg (Steamdome) features on two tracks.
