Description
Blues singer, songwriter and keyboard player Earl Gilliam has been performing in his home state of Texas since the 1950s, both as accompanist to bigger names such as Albert Collins and Clarence 'Garemouth' Brown and leading his own little combos. In the '80s/'90s he also toured Europe several times with fellow Texas blues veteran, Joe 'Guitar' Hughes. Although cut in a studio, these new recordings - with Earl on vocals, piano & organ, occasionally solo, and also with sax, guitar, bass and drums - are deliberately informal to give the feel of a typical small club gig or his Sunday afternoon jams in his garage, which he calls the doghouse.
Tracks: My Thing / Early In The Morning / Twist 2 / Pretty Little Doll / The Doghouse / Get Away Blues / Thrill Groove / Petite Baby / Going Downtown / Screaming Hog / Got To Find My Baby / First Name Is Earl / Stop By Johns / Brush Those Tears From Your Eyes / Tomball Shuffle.
