Description
British debut for Ezzthetic, an established Italian collective which in the last few years has produced some round-breaking theatre plays, sound installations and radio works. Knowledgeable percussion playing conversing with computer generated sounds with a convincing and coherent sound. A work that unites uncompromising experimental music with a desire for melody and a search for ethereal beauty. Cutting edge contemporary music reassuringly rooted in the politics of 20th century avant-garde movements.
The EP is structured as a triptych, with three main compositions interpolated by four sound miniatures, the central main piece being itself divided in three parts, and it explores some possibilities of dialogue between percussion instruments and computer generated sounds.
Maurizio Ravalico (percussion and vocals) moved to London in 1991. He worked with Jamiroquai and the James Taylor Quartet between 1992 and 1999, and played in most of the salsa and Cuban related London based projects over that period including "Accommodating Gods", one of the most important works for percussion music to come out of the UK in the nineties. Maurizio joined F-IRE for two years ago, playing with Rhythms of the City and Meta Meta. In October 2005 he will perform in the CNM Tour with the F-IRE Large Ensemble.
