Description
A powerful collection of historic recordings from Shirley & Dolly Collins. The recordings of Shirley Collins hold a pivotal place in the English folk song revival of the 1960s and '70s. Through an impressive handful of remarkable LPs - 'Folk Roots, New Routes' (with Davy Graham); 'Anthems In Eden'; 'Love, Death And The Lady'; 'No Roses' and 'For As Many As Will', Shirley always married a deep love of the songs handed down by rural labouring people with beautiful contemporary arrangements.
Those recorded with Dolly Collins are especially treasured. Gathered here are some magical performances of Shirley and Dolly Collins recorded in concert in the late 1970s and a handful of demo recordings from the 1960s. Deluxe digipac with full-colour large format booklet. Extensive sleevenotes by Shirley Collins. Previously unpublished photographs.
