Take Me All The Way (Bonus Tracks Edition)

Stacy Lattisaw gave the music world perhaps one of the most angelical voices ever and she could deliver a ballad like no other. When Stacy Lattisaw moved from Cotillion to Motown, her music was regarded as a mix of pop and old school R&B. The release of Nail It To The Wall told the world she meant business. This release was the perfect entry for her new label. From ballads like You Aint Leavin to R&B flavoured tracks like The Hard Way and Over The Top, this record is one you like listening to from start to finish. It was nice to see Stacy link up with her mentor and producer from the old label, Narada Michael Walden, and this relationship was still working strongly. Take Me All The Way is clearly one of the best tracks with Stacy at her singing best. Another great mid-up tempo song is the bright A Little Bit Of Heaven, which also could have been a single and is in a somewhat similar vein to Whitney Houstons smash How Will I Know from the same year. The album uses most of the same songwriters & producers as Whitneys pool of talent from the time period - Narada Michael Walden, Kashif, Frank Wildhorn, Preston Glass and Jellybean. This overlooked piece of Motown Pop/Funk from the mid 80s is worth buying just for the bonus alone.Yours truly all agree that the gems contained within deserve a second shot.
