â€œBad Attitudeâ€? is Meat Loafâ€™s fourth studio album. Representing an upswing in the singerâ€™s career, the album features four singles; â€˜Nowhere Fastâ€™, â€˜Modern Girlâ€™, â€˜Surf's Upâ€™ and â€˜Piece Of The Actionâ€™. After the phenomenal success of debut LP â€œBat Out Of Hellâ€? in 1977 (34 million copies and counting), Meat Loaf followed it with 1981â€™s â€œDead Ringerâ€?, another sizeable hit, with both albums showcasing the mercurial song writing talents of Jim Steinman. Having then parted company with Steinman, 1983â€™s â€œMidnight At The Lost And Foundâ€? found the singer in somewhat of a commercial dip, until 1984â€™s â€œBad Attitudeâ€?. It features two Steinman penned tunes, â€˜Surfâ€™s Upâ€™, previously recorded for Jim Steinmanâ€™s solo debut â€œBad For Goodâ€? in 1981 plus â€˜Nowhere Fastâ€™, which had originally been written for the soundtrack to the movie â€œStreets Of Fireâ€?. There are also two notable duets on this record; The Whoâ€™s Roger Daltrey appears on the title track, whilst Clare Torry, who is probably best known for her vocals on Pink Floydâ€™s â€œDark Side Of The Moonâ€?, duets on â€˜Modern Girlâ€™. This jewel case edition features extensive liner notes, 16 page booklet, plus plenty of rare artwork and memorabilia.
