This new CD presents selected works for clarinet and piano played by Marieke Vos (clarinet) and Camiel Boomsa (piano).
"The title of the album, Sliding Doors, originated in the tempo marking of the first movement of Nino Rota's sonata for clarinet and piano: Rota writes Scorrevole, meaning flowing or supple — a very versatile word — above the first movement. Porte scorrevoli therefore means sliding doors and is our thought for the structure and character of this programme: Behind every door, as it were, a new musical perspective appears. Clarinetist Marieke Vos and pianist Camiel Boomsma have been working in collaboration since 2019. They are known for their versatility, their sound and their exciting program choices. Vos and Boomsma have performed in prestigious venues such as the Willem Twee Toonzaal in Den Bosch and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. They are also regular guests on NPO Radio 4 and have performed live in programs such as AVROTROS Spiegelzaaland the NTR Avondconcert. In 2020 Vos & Boomsma founded the Mirantibus foundation with which they play and organize the chamber music concert series 'Mirantibus Concerten' in the Witte Kerkje in Baarn in the Netherlands. Throughout the years Vos and Boomsma have also built a solid reputation as individual musicians. Boomsma has recorded five CDs and is known as a pianist with an international career. Vos perform in chamber music concerts at the highest level with musicians of international stature. In 2015 she founded her ensemble the Nederlands Kamermuziek Ensemble. Marieke is a Leitner & Kraus Clarinet Artist.
