Time To Illuminate Earth
Description
'Time To Illuminate Earth' is Sverre Gjorvad's third release on Losen Records, the other two being 'Elegy of Skies' LOS2472), and 'Voi River' (LOS2162), the latter of which received international critical acclaim and radio airplay for its unique cover of George Harrison's 'Here comes The Sun'.
The core of Sverre Gjørvad´s compositions are built around transforming elements of sound from nature and reconstricting them into melodic themes and immagenary stories. There is a highly cinematic approach to his compositions thoughout this and his two previous Losen albums, all of which were recorded with his regular trio; Herborg Rundberg (piano), Kristian Svalestad Olstad (guitar), and Dag Okstad (bass).
On this particular album there is also a contribution from bassoonist Embrik Snerte on two of the songs. The woodwind brings both an eeriness and a lightness to the compositional stories that are told.
