Description
Barokkanerne is a period instrument ensemble based in Oslo. Founded in 1989, i t was one of the first baroque orchestras in Norway. Since 2007, Barokkanerne has had its own concert series at Cafeteatret in Oslo, with a number of outstanding international performers as guest leaders and soloists, among them Rachel Podger, Alfredo Bernardini, Emma Kirkby, Kati Debretzeni, Rolf Lislevand, and Bjarte Eike.
This recording is a gorgeous selection of 17th century concertos – by Vivaldi, Galuppi, Legrenzi and others – from Venice, showcasing the wealth of talent that part of the world enjoyed at the time.
