Sourcing material from ancient Scotland to modern Europe the duo have created a sparkling, cinematic work that retains the soul of traditional music whilst allowing it to breath in a modern environment. From the intricate rhythms of Gaelic waulking song 'Thograinn Thograinn' to Robert Burn's 'Slave's Lament', Sandy Wright's beautifully observed human tales and the truly amazing 'Pibroch', based on MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children', this is an album of enormous scope and inspiration.
