Janie Frickes vocal tones enhanced the recordings of many country stars, as one of the most sought-after backing singers in Nashville. Its said that producer Billy Sherrill signed her up in her own right in 1977 after a group of country radio DJ's pleaded with him to reveal the identity of the distinctive tones they'd heard on so many hits! 'The Very Best Of Janie' released in 1985 includes two Grammy-nominated songs 'Your Hearts Not In It' and 'She's Single Again'. The album contains nine Top 10 singles, five of which reached No.1 in the country charts. The bonus track on this album was the previously unreleased duet with Merle Haggard - 'Ridin' High'. 'Saddle The Wind' released in 1988 may not be as hit-packed as its companion but is regarded by her fans as one of her finest albums. -
