Limited edition 180 gram audiophile vinyl, pure analogue sound with high end mastering.'Beauteous Tales and Offbeat Stories', the second album by Finland based Kari Ikonen Trio, thrives on the magic of contrasts. The trio is made up of award-winning pianist Kari Ikonen, ECM Records recording artist Markku Ounaskari on drums and Armenian bass player Ara Yaralyan.
The album combines a selection of artful original compositions, a Bollywood hit and an Armenian love song but the trio also recorded a number of free improvisational pieces created in the studio without rehearsal. By taking a risk like this the trio manages to energetically capture their exceptional dynamic and creativity onto a record.
