Description

'Heavy Blues' draws from Randy Bachman's love of classic 60s blues rock and emerges with a blistering collection of BACHMAN originals. Guest soloists include: Neil Young, Joe Bonamassa, Robert Randolph, Peter Frampton and the late Jeff Healey.

His new trio, called BACHMAN, includes Anna Ruddick on bass and Dale Anne Brendan on drums. 'Heavy Blues' was produced by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Rush, Led Zeppelin).

Randy Bachman - the iconic leader and main songwriter for The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and solo artist in his own right, has sold over 40 million albums, is a multiple music hall of fame inductee and is now a media personality whose internationally syndicated Sirius/XM/CBC Radio show Vinyl Tap is a must listen weekly event for musicians of every stripe, with an impressive weekly audience across North America.

With an impressive catalog of solo albums and collaborations with fellow BTO band-mate Fred Turner, the formidable talent and catalog of Randy Bachman is now being re-issued globally through Linus Entertainment, including several early hard to find Guess Who albums, and two collaborative jazz albums, and his solo albums which feature new versions of his biggest hits.

The man who wrote "Takin' Care Of Business" and countless other worldwide hits has garnered Bachman the coveted #1 spot on radio play lists in over 20 countries.

Randy Bachman's music has provided an out-and-out soundtrack of the last thirty years of popular music, and he continues to build his legacy touring internationally selling out venues and festivals.

Press Quotes

"The Philadelphia quartet deliver a genre-exceeding slab of psychedelic stoner immensity, as titanic ensemble riff's pile-drive lead siren Jillian Taylor's hooneyed steel into your psyche."

Classic Rock

"Based around familiar riffs & embellished with solos that blaze. 'We Need To Talk' confirms how good a writer Bachman can be" (4*)

Mojo

"A raucous, blues-rock album. Neil Young, Joe Bonamassa, Peter Frampton & Robert Randolph add screeching licks to Bachman's still enviable ability to craft memorable riffs. Producer Kevin Shirley keeps it all as heavy as you'd want".

Uncut

"Bad Child on heavy rotation in the office this month"

Classic Rock

"A glorious, snarling piledriver of an album"

Guitar & Bass Magazine

"It's one of the best albums I've heard in a longtime. Listen, it will blow you away!"

The Beat

"Raw, power trio blues-based music. It that's your bag, do try this…"

Bluesinthenorthwest.com

"This is a terrfic album, there's not a duff track. Recommended"

Blues In The South

"Absolutely worth the wait. Bachman writes, plays & sings as well if not better than ever, his rhythm section make a holy noise that evokes memories of Cream, The Who."

Metal Talk

"This album has an assured quality & each song shows maturity & longevity. Canny, classy, congenial, meaty."

Fireworks

"He rocked with the Guess Who - now Randy Bachman's waxed a down 'n' dirty blues album with Joe Bonamassa, Neil Young etc..."

Guitarist Mag

"This really does what it says on the tin and clatters along at a fine old pace, and I'm happy to report Mr B is still in fine voice and also still knows how to pen a decent tune. As Smashy and Nicey used to say 'Let's Rock!' "

Total Music Mag

"What makes this album good is the fact that Bachman is a rock-solid power trio. Gritty rock with well-worn riffs, Bachman's pleasantly understated vocals & solos + a sprinkling of guests. If this line up tours you might want to catch them live."
