Christmas album by Robb Johnson & The Irregulars. A song suite telling the story of Mary, an unmarried mother from Feltham.

'The Ghost of Love' tells the story of Mary, unmarried mother of god, possibly, from Feltham, definitely, & Gary, carpenter & Brentford fan, & their two children, Jay & Jimmy, through their various Christmas experiences. These involve such traditional festive rituals & icons as Father Christmas, the workplace social, homelessness, poverty, too much red wine, Bethlehem, Boxing Day football & Sir Cliff Richard.

The song suite comprises 12 songs, featuring Johnson's trademark penchant for the darkly comic, with a generous helping of festive social criticism & a couple of good old-fashioned relationship ballads thrown in for good measure.
The album is performed by Robb & the Irregulars; the thunderous rhythm section of John Forrester & Charlie Way good , garnished with Roger Watson's magnificent melodeon, concertina & harmonics, & Naomy Browton on cello & Tim Walker providing brass.
