A live recording of Roy's annual concert at Towersey Festival in 2015 to an audience of more than a thousand people. For 50+ years, Roy Bailey has been one of the UK Folk & Acoustic scene's most loved and admired performers. He has performed on stages, TV and radio all over the world.

In 2000 he was awarded an MBE for Services to Folk Music ? an Award he later returned in protest at the Government's Foreign Policy. In 1990 Roy and Tony Benn first presented their show 'The Writing on the Wall' for which the duo won Best Live Act at BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2003. Roy is joined by Martin Simpson (guitar) and Andy Cutting, (Diatonic Accordion) both multiple winners of BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and with international recognition. Also by musicians, Marc Block (percussion) and Ian Brown (guitar.) Roy has pursued an academic career while also singing the songs he loves to people around the world.

He has now retired and is an Emeritus Professor of Sheffield Hallam University and was a founding member of the governing council of the Northern College of Residential Adult Education. He has now, at 80 yrs of age, retired from all academic and educational involvement and concentrates on his singing career.
