First live album from the dynamic guitarist/singer/songwriter, recorded over two nights in April 2004 at the venue he has been playing annually since opening night in 1980, Grant Street Dancehall, Lafayette, Louisiana. Here he performs as his legion of fans want to hear him, accompanied just by his own regular bassist (Dave Ranson) and drummer (Kenneth Blevins). "Although I love having special guests sit in with us, this time I decided to document our band as it is every night on the road," Landreth says, "The trio format gives me the space to focus on the slide guitar thing." And focus he does, with finger-blistering versions of the most requested favourites from his previous eight albums and three new songs.
Tracks: Native Stepson / Broken Hearted Road / Gone Pecan / Port Of Calling / Blues Attack / Z Rider / U.S.S. Zydecoldsmobile / Wind In Denver / All About You / Pedal To Metal / Congo Square.
Also available: LEVEE TOWN (SHCD3925), THE ROAD WE'RE ON (SHCD3964).
