'Into The Well', the hotly anticipated new album from The Poozies sees the band release their stunning new recording as a slimmed-down four piece with founder members Mary Macmaster and Sally Barker (fresh from her romp to the final of The Voice UK last year) along with long-time members Eilidh Shaw and Mairearad Green.

Since the early 1990's The Poozies have earned a reputation as pioneers and trail-blazers, not only by being the first all-female folk band on the scene, but also because of the ease with which they unashamedly crossed folk with pop, soul, country, Scottish Gaelic and, in their own words, 'any enticing genre'.

In this latest album that same format of ingenuity and exuberance remains and it is this winning formula that makes 'Into The Well' a contemporary gem, carrying on that unmistakable, trademark Poozie je ne sais quoi.

Their unique sound is a powerful combination of rhythmic, punching acoustic guitar, growling electro-harp, and dexterous fiddle and accordion, with spine-tingling songs in four-part harmony.

Tracks include Sally's newly composed song 'Ghost Girl' - a chilling attack from beyond the grave; Mairearad's beautiful soundscape 'Achiltibuie' ; and a stripped-back, exquisite cover of Lynn Miles' 'Three Chords and the Truth'; all intricately arranged and nestling happily amongst their usual high-energy Gaelic puirt-a-beul, jigs and reels.

Recorded by their live engineer Joe Peat and produced by percussionist Donald Hay, 'Into the Well' smoulders and sparkles and ignites with aplomb.
