    A new studio album, arguably even better than His Hands, again recorded in Nashville by Mark Nevers (Lambchop, Silver Jews), with a grittier, more live, southern-funk sound. As before, a combination of veterans and newcomers, including Candi's son on drums and her daughter singing back-up, this time the band is led by Mose Davis, fromDetroit funk legends The Fabulous Counts.
    Again there is amix of original compositions, including anothersong written for Candi by Will Oldham, and country and soulrevives from the likes of Dan Penn, Mary Gauthier,and Dave Crawford (who wrote YoungHearts Run Free).
