  • Description

The album contains a collection of passion, Marian and liturgical compositions and Orthodox Church music. The repertoire includes works by nine composers, active from the 17th century to the present day. Many of them are often performed, not only in Europe, but also in the United States. The diversity of the material allows the listener to observe the performance possibilities of the male choir, appreciate the range of their voices and the dramatic potential. From contemplative, subdued melodies in which the text plays the primary role, to extensive polyphonic constructions, they all leave the listeners in a mood of concentration, taking them into the world of spirituality expressed through music.

The choristers of the Cantores Sancti Nicolai Men's Choir have been performing a diverse repertoire, not only sacred, for seven years, and they began singing as children. The album is a summary of their cooperation with conductor Justyna Hanusiak, with whom the ensemble has won a silver diploma in the international competition "Rybnik Choral Autumn".
