Eléonor is the ‘nom de plume’ of the Flemish singer Elly Aerden. She searched for
Latin texts about love, happiness, pride and melancholy. Then she set them to music: a
melodious and gentle mix of fado, pop and jazz.
Thanks to this approach, Latin does not sound like an extinct language, but very
much alive and contemporary. One could imagine the words having been written today.
Listening to Eléonor evokes a wonderful feeling of timelessness and eternity. She makes
you forget the storm and the rain. And on a sunny day she takes you with her, swaying
to southern places where temptation and passion rule the night. -
