Description
A double CD for the price of one, combining three of Fellside's best selling albums.
Towards the end of the 1970s and into 1980s there was a lot of interest in country dancing and there was a proliferation of young bands. At the same time there was a whole scene going on in the mainly EFDSS (English Folk Dance & Song Society) Clubs throughout England. Hoghton Band was part of that. It was perceived that there was a shortage of records where the tunes were played dance length, at the correct tempo and for specific dances. Thus came about Hoghton Band's first LP for Fellside in 1980.
Over the next four years they produced another two LPs and all three became best sellers. They are still asked about and so it was decided to combine all three on this double CD for the price of one. It is not trendy or adventurous, but it is good honest music, played to fulfil a need and with a lilt and swing that typified Hoghton Band.
