Originally released as a 2CD, 3CD and picture LP set, "Alive in Athens" was slightly flawed upon its release yet became a gigantic success for the legendary heavy metal band. The original release lacked the live version of 'Colors' and the picture LP came along with a careless vinyl cut interrupting Matt's stage banter several times and split up tracks that belong together (for example the "Something Wicked (Trilogy)"). Together with Jon Schaffer, who contributed liner notes alongside Matt Barlow, this anniversary edition offers a slightly revised sequencing and new vinyl mastering by Patrick W. Engel to allow the many ICED EARTH fans an audiophile experience of this unforgettable set recorded over two nights in '99. Also included is a 12 page booklet and huge poster!
